I use the quotes because frankly, it is not entirely random! Having taken Statistics, I realize that to be entirely random, one must use a Random Number Table (many of which are available on the beloved internet). As a matter of fact, I nearly used one to determine the stripe length; however, I realized the concept of this "random stripes" scarf was for the not-so-random stripes to be aesthetically pleasing in their array. Therefore, I determined my own stripe lengths, rather than using the very practical but in this case not-applicable random number table.

I'll post pictures asap. This scarf was for a special friend of mine and is very hawt. (The scarf. Well, the friend, too.) :D

Here is the jumper/pinafore I knitted, based off of the Anouk pinafore from Knitty.com.

I knitted it in Lily Sugar'n'Cream pastels and Bernat Cotton Tots for Hannah's new baby girl.

I'm retiring my favourite headcovering. As a matter of fact, I'm retiring my headcoverings.

Here is my favourite one, which I thought was kind of Jamaican-looking

sorry for the bad angle, it's not a very good picture of the actual hat, but my digital camera is currently without battery, so i'm working with what i've already got.

it's basically a round back-of-the-head beanie, and heeeere is the pattern, which can be given a great deal of variation:

Materials:

1 ball Lily Sugar'n'Cream (worsted 4-ply 100% cotton)
(I used white crochet cotton for the bottom of the cap as a border
US 6 or 8 straight needles
crochet hook

Gauge: 20 sts x 26 rows = 4x4" garter st. Knit in garter st for 2-3 inches as desired.

Start decreasing as follows:

Row 1: *K2, K2tog* across row.

Row 2 and every other even row: Knit across.

Row 3: *K1, K2tog* across row.

Row 5: K2tog across row.

Row 7: *K2, K2tog* across row.

Row 9: *K1, K2tog* across row.

Row 11: K2tog across row.

Row 12: Knit.

Break yarn. Using the crochet hook, hook the cutoff strand through each remaining loop individually (there should be about five or six. If there's a lot more, K2tog across one more time).
